Pasadena ISD has expanded its AVID system this year to include AVID Excel. Offered at the intermediate level, the elective class prepares English as a Second Language students (ESL) and Long-Term English Learners (LTEL) for the rigor of high school coursework.

Lori Ray named 2018 SHHS Alumni Association’s Ainsworth honoree

Lori Regelbrugge Ray, a 1976 graduate of South Houston High School and former football cheerleader, has been named the recipient of the 2018 David M. Ainsworth Alumni Spirit Award. Ray will be recognized during the 61st annual homecoming celebration on September 28, 2018, along with six new inductees who have been selected for South Houston’s Alumni Hall of Honor.

Over 250 Pasadena ISD board members, administrators, and community volunteers came together recently for the district’s annual Walk for Success. The program was developed to help high school students who are only a few credits away from graduation receive their high school diploma by various methods including: Community School, Virtual School, TAKS prep courses or regular classroom attendance.
