2014 Chess Championships

This past Saturday, May 4, Pasadena ISD held its Fourth Annual Chess Championship at Beverly Hills Intermediate.  Three high schools, six intermediate schools, six middle schools, and five elementary schools, or a total of 20 campuses, sent students to the event.  18 of the schools participating were from Pasadena ISD, and one (Bonnette Jr. High) was from Deer Park ISD.    In all, 147 students participated (another all-time high for PISD chess!).  The top finishers in each division are listed in the table at the bottom of this email.

Except for high school, each student played six games, receiving one point for each win and a half-point for each draw. There were tie breakers in the Elementary and Intermediate divisions, as indicated on the results chart.  In the high school division, students played 5 games.
