Sing Me a Story Foundation, initially established in Nashville, TN, is a Nonprofit organization looking to change the reality of kids in medical or financial crisis, helping them focus on the strength of life through storytelling.

With the purpose of helping children and families in need by sharing their children's imaginative stories through the power of music and narration. Pasadena ISD is honored to be selected as one of the few Texas representatives out of 25 schools across the nation to tell the story of these remarkable child writers through song and dance.

Whether a child is fighting battles with cancer, autism, or even poverty, the Sing Me a Song Foundation has been a critical element in supporting families.

For the first time,  Elmer G. Bondy Intermediate has been chosen to honor such an impactful event, going above and beyond to express the excellence of child authors.

They performed the story of four-year-old Pearland native Kennedy, who is currently fighting brain cancer, and will get a chance to see his uplifting work celebrated.

His story being loosely based on his favorite episode on Bluey, it was important to Kennedy and his family to write about his battles with medical concerns.

Patriot students performed variations on "Hard Times Come Again No More," written by a former assistant band director, Dr. Bradley Boone.

His story is also loosely based on one of his favorite episodes of the hit TV show Bluey.

Led by Bondy Intermediate band director Russell Bowlin and narrated by their principal, Ms. Roneka Lee, a beautiful selection of composed dancing, breathtaking stage designs, and costumes displayed the beauty behind the pen of Kennedy and his family.

With a story like Kennedy's, who has been fighting illness since he was nine months old, it's incredible to see how these songs and stories remind us all of how much people have in common. No one sees the struggles from others but with compassion and creating smiles as this concert did, it gives families in need a unique experience that offers joy and healing.
