Eight Pasadena ISD students have been selected to become part of the newest cohort of Dell Scholars, an initiative of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

The Dell Foundation exemplifies the persona of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), providing students with the experience of individualized, comprehensive, and academic avenues, bridging the gap between financial assistance and college readiness curriculums.

This scholarship permits students to participate in a curriculum designed to allow them to exceed their average creative ability and forge their path to success.

Having consistently had six to eight students chosen as Dell Scholars in the past five years, it is remarkable to observe the profound influence this experience has had on Pasadena ISD students who have equipped themselves for various aspects of college readiness and fundamental practices.

Earning a college degree takes more than just financial aid; the Dell Scholars program provides a support network to assist students with any challenges. Aside from obtaining a $20,000 scholarship, a laptop, and textbook resources, students receive personalized and complete support to overcome intellectual, financial, and emotional barriers to achieve their academic ambitions.

Students and families can also access resources such as work-life balance, financial aid coaching, private therapy, and the opportunity to network with support professionals who have achieved equivalent success.

Pasadena ISD's Early College High School encourages students to think outside the box by focusing on college readiness and its abundance of educational possibilities. Regardless of what industry students wish to follow, classes like college-prep electives provide a pathway to obtaining various opportunities before stepping on a collegiate campus.

To be considered a Dell scholar, students must take part in an approved college preparedness program for at least two years to be eligible for the program.
