Patrick Longstreet was named South Houston High School’s head football coach/Athletic Coordinator at a recent meeting of the Pasadena ISD Board of Trustees.

Longstreet has served as the offensive coordinator for B.F. Terry High School at Lamar Consolidated Independent School District for the past seven years. He helped lead the Rangers to a 5-5 record last season.

With over 13 years coaching experience, Longstreet has served as an assistant coach at both Clements High School and Bastrop High School.

Longstreet graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Huston-Tillotson University in 2003 and earned his master’s degree in 2015 from Lamar University.

“We are extremely thrilled and excited Coach Longstreet is joining us at South Houston,” said Principal Andrea Wenke. “It was a unanimous decision by the hiring committee that he was the best fit for our campus.”

As head football coach and athletic coordinator for the Trojans, Longstreet will work with all South Houston coaches.

“Our whole philosophy was not to just maintain our success, but to take it to the next level,” said Assistant Principal Joe Horton. “We believe that he is the person to do that, not just with football, but with all our athletic programs.”
