Six students achieve All-State recognition

Six students from Pasadena ISD have been named members of the All-State band, orchestra and choir –the highest individual achievement in a music competition that students can obtain at the high school level.

“These students represent the very best among Texas high school musicians,” said Linda Fletcher, Pasadena ISD Director of Fine Arts. “We are so proud of them for their hard work and dedication in securing this accolade.”

Sponsored by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), the annual competition requires those vying for the distinction to audition at the district, region, and area levels. This year, over 65,000 students across Texas auditioned in the process, with only one percent receiving the All-State recognition.

Some of the students will audition once more for chairs in the All-State instrumental ensembles. “Then, they plunge into rehearsals for the weekend’s final concerts,” said Fletcher. “The students recognized below have achieved the highest rank they can obtain at the high school level.”
